FAQ
Answers to your questions about upfront pricing and fast, hassle-free urgent care.
Why was Cash for Care created?
Answer: It is unfair to not have “know before you go” pricing. Healthcare is the only sector of our economy where the cost of goods and purchases sold is not provided before the time of purchase. We change that.
Why pay Cash for Care?
Answer: 70 million Americans do not have health insurance. Another 80 million have a high deductible that averages $6,000 that 80% never meet. The Cash for Care price is better than the insurance “discount.” If you are a part of this 150 million people, pay cash, get the care you need and keep more money in your wallet. Insurance is not for a doctor visit. Insurance is protection against a financial catastrophe.
Why aren’t all urgent care centers in Cash for Care?
Answer: Cash for Care includes only urgent care centers with reasonable pricing. Urgent care centers owned by hospitals often have a facility fee. This means there's often a $150 facility fee in addition to the $175 or so doctor fee. This makes the care unnecessarily more expensive.
Also, private equity firms that own urgent care centers choose to call them “freestanding emergency rooms” when they are really a “doc in a box” yet they charge $5,000 to $10,000 for their visit as “ER visits.” As insider healthcare pricing experts at Cash for Care, we did all the thinking to protect you financially, so you don’t have to.
What are the member benefits?
Answer: Membership includes three urgent care visits per year, paying up to $200 per visit in advance of your visit. Show up. Get care. Don’t pay.
What percent of those who use the ER could have used an urgent care center for care instead?
Answer: It is estimated that two of every three people assessed in an ER could have properly been clinically evaluated in an urgent care setting, saving $10,000 to $30,000 per ER visit.
How is Cash for Care Urgent Care offering sold?
Answer: Cash for Care is sold at a modest per member per month (PMPM) price to health bundles, minimal essential coverage (MEC) health plans and other health plans. Membership includes up to three urgent care visits per year, paying up to $200 per visit in advance of your visit.
What is a common good price point for an urgent care visit?
Answer: $150 to $200. If an x-ray or blood work is ordered, there will be an additional cost.
